This course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of modern airliner operations. It aims to equip aviation professionals with the knowledge necessary to comprehend airliner operations from the perspective of pilots. The curriculum covers both normal and non-normal operational scenarios. Additionally, the course offers in-depth information on aircraft dispatch planning, navigation, communication and weather considerations, and the roles and responsibilities involved in non-normal operations. Session 1: Theory: - Jet Aircraft General - Structure & Controls - Automations & Protections - Navigations (RNAV/RNP) & Communications - Flight Management Systems - Functions & Operations: Flight, Weight & Fuel Planning, Navigation & Communications - ADS-B - ADS-B OUT - ADS-B IN - ATSAW installation - Approaches - RNAV / RNP approaches & cockpit indications - Latest development: FLS, LPV & GLS - Operations & Procedures - Flightdeck management overview - Wx & Terrain related procedures Simulator Demonstration / Experience - Normal Operations - Normal Operations and Procedures from start to chocks in - Depart with failed equipments - Stabilised, Rushed Approaches in Wx - LVO Session 2: Theory: - Operation (Pre-flight planning & inflight) - Dispatch criteria & flight planning - Fuel Policy (before & after dispatch) - Abnormal operations - Airmanship & ECAM concept - Common industry problem solving model - Abnormal Checklists - Case studies - Takeoff: EFATO, - Cruise: Emergency Descent & - Approach & Landing: Abnormal landing gear Simulator Experience - Onboard failures that require ATC input - Basic ECAM handling (subject to time, the followings are available for demonstration) - EFATO / RTO - Flap jam - Emergency Descent (smoke) - Abnormal landing gear or - Other failures that may require ATC input
